My name is Tain Nix.
I've spent the last 27 years living outside the United States — in Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Argentina, and a dozen other countries across four continents.
I left the US in 1998 for what I thought would be a short adventure. I taught at a Swiss boarding school. Toured the continent on a motorcycle.
Sailed the high seas and got caught in Hurricane Mitch on the Bahama Banks. Went to Cuba to see communism with my own eyes.
Bought land in Central America and built a house. Learned medicine from an old curandero around Lake Atitlan.
